Texas A&M University College of Dentistry Update

The renovation of the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry building is progressing steadily, bringing new life to a facility that supports education, research, and patient care. This comprehensive project is transforming existing spaces into modern, high‑performance environments designed to enhance the student experience and expand clinical and research capabilities. As construction advances floor by floor, each phase brings the University closer to a more innovative and efficient setting for teaching and treatment.

On Level 2, the new research lab is actively taking shape. One side of the lab is currently under development, with overhead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems being installed to support specialized equipment and research functions. These critical infrastructure components will help ensure that the lab can safely and reliably accommodate advanced research activities, with flexibility for future technologies and program needs.

Level 3 is being transformed into a state‑of‑the‑art simulation clinic focused on hands‑on training. Framing is now complete, establishing the core layout of the space, including instructional zones and simulation areas where students will practice clinical techniques in a controlled environment. Work on the side walls has begun, further defining the space and moving the clinic closer to a finished interior that will support immersive, practice‑ready learning.

On Level 4, the animal research unit is in an earlier but significant stage of progress. Demolition and structural modifications are underway to reconfigure the existing space and meet the unique demands of research functions and regulatory requirements. With this foundational work in motion, framing is scheduled to begin at the end of May, marking the transition from preparation to visible construction and layout definition.

Across all levels, the renovation reflects a shared vision: to provide modern, purpose‑built spaces that support the College’s mission and long‑term growth. CARCON Industries is proud to contribute to a project that strengthens academic programs, enhances research capacity, and improves the environment for patients, faculty, staff, and students. As the building continues to take shape, we look forward to sharing future milestones and showcasing the impact of these upgraded facilities on the College of Dentistry community.
