DART Red & Blue Line Expansion

Project Description

The DART Red and Blue Line expansion project involved extending and modifying platforms at 28 stations to allow for three-car trains instead of the previous two-car limit. This upgrade was designed to significantly increase passenger capacity, with DART estimating up to a 33% boost system-wide during peak hours. The project also included raising portions of some platforms to permit level boarding, improving accessibility for all riders. These enhancements aimed to address crowding, reduce congestion during peak times, and provide a more comfortable and efficient experience for passengers.
